The universe of Duskar is a star map of 1,271 sectors with five main planets, Zalnyr, Navis, Vevoria, Coth and Manus, and the planetoids scattered between them. Flights take real time and need a ship and maps, or a fee. Between the planets lies open space, with its own expedition, new planetoids to discover and the occasional black hole.

The star map

The map is a grid of 41 × 31 sectors, from X-20 to X20 and from Y-15 to Y15; every sector has a code like X14Y11. The map is split into four quarters, north, east, south and west, and each quarter has its own map item.

Planet Quarter Sector
Zalnyr North X-2Y-2
Navis East X7Y-5
Vevoria North X-5Y-13
Coth West X-16Y-3
Manus South X5Y14

Every other sector is open space, where planetoids lie. Choose a sector on the map to see its code, its quarter, its planet, the flight time and fee from where you stand, and the planetoids you know there.

Flying

Flights open with tutorial chapter 4, from account level 10. You can fly to a planet or to any sector of the map.

  • Permits. A flight needs a ship that crosses space, a starship, and the map of the destination’s quarter. For each permit you lack you pay a fee: 50,000 yen below account level 50, 250,000 yen below 75 and 500,000 yen from 75. A new account has neither, so its first flight pays the fee twice.
  • Guide’s Ticket. It pays every fee of one flight and is used up at take-off. Tutorial chapter 3 gives you one.
  • Time. A flight takes one hour for every sector of straight-line distance, rounded up to the minute, and half as long from Starship level 2.
  • Arrival. Your ship arrives by itself. On a planet’s sector you land on that planet; anywhere else you wait in open space.
  • Stopping. You can stop a flight on the way. The ship stays in the last sector it has fully reached, the fee is not returned, and you can start a new flight at once.
  • When you cannot fly. Not during work or the gym, not during another flight, and not in Dark Lightning weather, which keeps every ship on the ground. No expeditions during a flight.
Flight time Navis Vevoria Coth Manus
Zalnyr 9 h 30 / 4 h 45 11 h 25 / 5 h 43 14 h 03 / 7 h 02 17 h 28 / 8 h 44
Navis 14 h 26 / 7 h 13 23 h 06 / 11 h 33 19 h 07 / 9 h 34
Vevoria 14 h 52 / 7 h 26 28 h 48 / 14 h 24
Coth 27 h 02 / 13 h 31

The first time is with Starship level 1, the second from Starship level 2. The longest flight on the map, from corner to corner, takes 50 hours, or 25.

A Planetary Portal takes you to any main planet in 30 minutes, without a ship or a map. Tutorial chapter 3 gives you one; later it costs 2,000 gold yen in the planet store.

Ships and maps

Ships are bought in the planet store one level at a time, from the first airship up, and each level installs at once. Every ship also raises how many warriors you can own.

Ship Price Warriors Travel
Airship, level 1 5,000 ¥ 20 -
Airship, level 2 1,125,000 ¥ 40 -
Airship, level 3 2,200,000 ¥ 70 -
Starship, level 1 25,000,000 ¥ 100 Crosses space
Starship, level 2 55,000,000 ¥ 150 Twice as fast
Starship, level 3 100,000,000 ¥ 300 Twice as fast
Starship, level 4 210,000,000 ¥ 500 Twice as fast

The four maps of the galaxy, northern, eastern, southern and western, cost 10,000,000 yen each and also install at once.

The World Expert achievement counts the main planets you reach by flight; the planet you start on counts once you fly back to it. With all five, open space expeditions discover planetoids twice as often.

Open space

When your ship stops in a sector without a planet, you are in open space. The weather there is always Ordinary Weather, which does nothing, unless you carry a personal weather.

While you wait in space you can go on the Open Space expedition for 12 AP:

  • Unawakened warriors. Very often a trip brings an unawakened warrior from the locations of all five planets.
  • A planetoid. Rarely a trip discovers a planetoid of the sector you stand in, if it holds one you do not know yet. When you know them all, fly on.
  • A black hole. Very rarely a trip ends in a black hole.
  • A transformation stone, very rarely, as everywhere.

Most other trips find nothing. The World Expert and Cartographer achievements make discoveries more frequent; Cartographer counts the sectors where your ship has stopped. Read what to do with a new planetoid on the planetoids page.

Black holes

A black hole throws you at once to a random sector, whatever your ship and maps; if it is a planet’s sector, you land on that planet. A Gravity Detector protects you for one hour, and using another one while it runs starts the hour again. The Event Horizon achievement counts your falls: its first levels give Gravity Detectors, and its last level keeps black holes away for good.

Getting to planetoids

  • Teleporter. Once a game day it takes you to one of your own planetoids, a clan mate’s planetoid or your clan’s seat, lands you there and puts it on your map. It is used up, and it cannot be used during work, the gym, a flight or Dark Lightning.
  • Space Capsule. It sends a reserve warrior into the garrison of your planetoid from anywhere.
  • Rescue Pod. It brings a garrison warrior home from afar without paying the recall price.

Weather on the planets

Every planet has its own weather, the same for everyone standing on it, and it can change from hour to hour. Day and night have weathers of their own: day weathers come between 07:00 and 21:00 UTC and night weathers between 21:00 and 07:00. Some can come at any hour, and some are much rarer than others. The weather follows the game clock, not your local time.

Weather changes expeditions, awakening and fights with unawakened warriors, and a few weathers touch the gym, flights or the planet’s shops. It never changes league or tournament fights. A personal weather, like the Lucky Star of a new account, travels with you from planet to planet. Every weather and its effects are in the weather encyclopedia.

Art from the game

  • The red planet Vevoria
Vevoria lies in the northern quarter of the map, a flight of 11 hours 25 minutes from Zalnyr with the first starship.
  • Starship, level 1
Starship, level 1: the first ship that crosses space. Without it every flight pays a fee.
  • Map of the Northern Galaxy
Map of the Northern Galaxy: one of four maps, one for each quarter of the star map.
  • Planetary Portal
A Planetary Portal takes you to any main planet in 30 minutes, without a ship or a map.
  • Gravity Detector
A Gravity Detector keeps black holes away for an hour.
  • Teleporter
A Teleporter takes you once a day to your own planetoid, a clan mate's planetoid or your clan's seat.

Questions players ask

How do I fly to another planet?

Flights open in tutorial chapter 4, from account level 10. Pick a planet or any sector on the star map and start the flight. A Guide's Ticket pays the fees of one flight, and a Planetary Portal takes you to any main planet in 30 minutes.

Weather is random, but it follows the game clock, not your local time. It changes expeditions, awakening and fights with unawakened warriors, never league or tournament fights.
